The game went into overtime after a deadlock at 51 points. The 3P’s (Pride, Puso, Palaban) of the Growling Tigers prevailed against the Green Archers’ bid to win their first match. The King Tiger, Jeric Teng, helped his team win the game as his brother, Jeron Teng, was fouled out just before the end of regulation. The elder Teng finished with 23 pts. Karim Abdul contributed with 17 pts, 10 rebs, 2 stls and 3 blks despite his problems with turnovers.

The UST Growling Tigers won over DLSU Green Archers. Final Score is 63-58.

Former Glowing Goldies player and the Famous Coach Pido Jarencio said that he's happy that they won despite the opening jitters they felt during the game.

UAAP Season 76 Opening Ceremonies

With a theme, Greatness never ends, the 76th season of the most popular collegiate sports league in the Philippines kicked off last weekend. The University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) held its opening ceremonies for the 76th season at the Mall of Asia Arena with the Adamson University hosting this season’s sports activities.

The theme of the Opening Ceremonies is Hunger Games. The eight participating universities paraded their athletes and muses. For this year's season, the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers will do their best to bring back the crown to Espana as they missed their 15th consecutive Seniors Overall Championship last year. The De La Salle University Green Archers will not make the Tigers' bid to win the overall as they vie for their back to back Championship this season.

However, there are still six contenders who are out to take the Overall Championship from DLSU.

Here are some of the pictures of the said event.

FBF | FEEDBACK FRIDAYS: Professional Regulation Commission

Feedback Fridays.

Basically, I'll be writing about my feedback or reviews about something. Pwedeng place, food, movie o kung ano man. Now, I'll be starting with one of the most crowded and busiest government agencies - Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
PRC Logo.
According to their website, "...Professional Regulation Commission is responsible for the administration, implementation and enforcement of regulatory policies on the regulation and licensing of various professions and occupations under its jurisdiction". Under PRC, there are 46 Professional Regulatory Boards including Board of Nursing, Board of Architecture, Board Medicine, and Engineering Regulatory Boards.

Anything regarding your profession is processed here. May it be for application for examination, registration for new passers, renewal of license (some malls do have PRC express lanes), etc.

Since I'm a Registered Nurse since 2012, I've been to PRC for several times. Pumunta ako dun after passing the June board exams to register, get my certificates. Just this month, I went there to claim my board certificate which is an important document for staff nurse application in some hospitals.

Location:
PRC Main Office is located at Paredes St., corner Morayta St., Sampaloc Manila.

PRC Location Map. Photo from PRC website.

If you're coming from Quezon City or anywhere from North, ride public transportation (jeepneys, FX, taxis). Kapag galing sa SM North, Trinoma, may mga jeeps and FX na going to Quiapo/Kalaw. If you see UST already, ready na para bumaba. Ibababa lang kayo sa may Overpass in front of KFC tapos use the Overpass. Go to Morayta St.. Just before Morayta, may isa pang street, Paredes St., yun na!

If you're coming from the South (Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, Cavite etc.), ride a bus going to Lawton and drop off near Park N' Ride or sa harap ng Post Office. Ride a jeepney going North, Espana or kahit ano, wag lang Dapitan/Dimasalang. Then, baba ka sa Morayta St., lakad and yun!

Claiming of Board Certificates:
Window M for Metered Documentary Stamps.

I went there before lunch to get my board certificate. I was informed by my friends to get documentary stamps. The line to get documentary stamps is so overwhelming. I cannot endure waiting there under the heat of the sun just to buy a small piece of paper. So, with my friends, we tried our luck to claim our certificates.

Also, one of my problems is that I don't have my PRC license. At first, I was hesitant to get my certificates since baka mapahiya lang ako at masabihan na di ako nagdala ng license.

Then, we went inside the office para ipila sa Window 18 yung mga pangalan namin. They asked for our stamps with our PRC number at the back. So swerte dahil di naman pala kukunin yung license. Then, they said that we just have to wait for an hour.

After 2-3 hours lunch, we went back to PRC kasi we expect na makukuha namin yun agad na hindi na maghihintay.

A scene from TV series, The Walking Dead.

Boom! Pagdating dun, parang The Walking Dead yung window nung releasing of board certificates, lahat ng nagaabang para sa certificates andun, nandun din yung mga wala lang.

Then, we asked for our board certificates.

Hassle!

Recommendations:

Sample 15-peso documentary stamp.Photo from www.robertgsarmiento.org
  2. Sana yung proseso, assess-pay-release of documents.
  4. Speaking of buildings, I suggest na dagdagan ng buildings kung hindi naman kakayaning paghiwa-hiwalayin ang bawat professional regulatory boards. Gawa ng building tapos mag-assign ng window or station per profession, depende sa number of population ng profession na yun.

Photo from www.avclub.com.

Bago pa man makalimutan ng lahat, Maligayang Kaarawan Jose Rizal!

Isinilang noong June 19, 1861 ang pambansang bayani ng Pilipinas na si Dr. Jose Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda. Ngayong araw ginugunita at pinagdiriwang ang ika-isandaan at limampu't dalawang kaarawan ni Rizal.

Biggest Loser: Election 2013 Edition

Proclamation rally held in Cebu City.
Photo from Jack Enrile Facebook account

16th Congress

This coming July, we will have a new set of Congress. The 12 retiring senators will be replaced by 'new' senators.

Of these winning senatorial candidates, half of them are reelectionists (Legarda, Cayetano, Escudero, Pimentel, Trillanes, Honasan). Bagong-bagong mga pangalan.

Former congressmen also won in the May 2013 polls (Angara, Villar, Ejercito). Mas lalong bagong pangalan.

Poe, Binay and Aquino, who previously held a position in the government, also won the election. Bago at mga mababangong pangalan.
