For the second game day of UAAP 76 Opening Weekend, the AdU
Soaring Falcons and UP Fighting Maroons played against each other to win their
first victory this season.
AdU’s Jericho Cruz came up with 19 pts, 6 rebs, and 3 stls. The
King Falcon did this even if he skipped practice for preparation of UAAP
Opening Ceremonies.
ABL Coach of the Year, Leo Austria, was happy with how his team
played for their first win. He added that even if Ryan Monteclaro didn’t play
much after his mother passed away before the season, Julkipli and Inigo brought
the ball down and set up plays for the team. Also, Cabrera’s contributed with
his long range jumpers. Cameroonian import Ingrid Sewa and Rodney Brondial’s
presence got UP into foul trouble.
The Katipunan-based Fighting Maroons is coached by Ricky Dandan.
