The UST Growling Tigers bounced back from
their NU loss to win their 3rd victory. Without team captain Jeric Teng, UST
won against UE last Saturday at MOA Arena.
Stepping up for his team after 3 games
with low scoring, Karim Abdul made a career high with 25 pts and 13 rebs. Aljon
Mariano contributed 10 pts in the last quarter, 24 in total and 11 rebs. Completing
the three Tigers who carried the Teng-less team, Ed Daquioag garnered his new
career high with 19 pts.
UE also played without big man Charles
Mammie, who was suspended after their game against Adamson. Roi Sumang, who was
UE’s go to guy in their match up against NU, made 21 pts. All but one of Sumang’s
scores were made at the second half of the game.
UST improved their standings to 3-1 to
secure solo 2nd below unbeaten FEU with 3-0 record. UE added another
loss to their record which is now 1-3. UST’s only loss and UE’s only victory
were both made against NU Bulldogs.
