UAAP S76 | Top contenders defeated 5-time Champs | ADMU vs. NU

There's bad luck for Katipunan teams for the Opening weekend. NU Bulldogs dominated the game against the 5-time Champions ADMU Blue Eagles. The game ended with a 10-point lead by last year’s host (Final Score 65-54).

Coach Bo Perasol, who replaced the 5-time Champion Coach Norman Black, lost his first UAAP Game. His star player, former juniors MVP Kiefer Ravena, sat down for the rest of the second half as he struggled to contribute for his team with his right ankle injury. Coach Bo didn't risk Ravena’s condition in preparation for their next game against FEU this Wednesday.

Former DLSU player, Nico Elorde, tried to catch up with NU with his back to back three pointers. He did this even with his nose bleeding. Elorde finished with 10 points.

NU Bulldogs took over the game with a 24-point lead before Ateneo went on a 16-2 run. However, two-time MVP Bobby Parks Jr. shot from the arc to give NU with 13 point cushion with less than 2 minutes of regulation.

Next set of games will be on Wednesday, July 3. FEU, UST, NU and ADU all have 1-0 under their belt.
