The Ateneo Blue Eagles managed to comeback from UE Red Warriors' highest lead of 15 pts. With the help of Juami Tiongson's triples, Ateneo was able to tie the game at the end of the third quarter, 54-54. However, these triples are not enough for them to win against UE who's now at the top of the Katipunan-based squads, Ateneo and UP.
During the last minutes of the game, Kiefer Ravena shot a long three and a difficult layup leaving UE behind by three points.
After being suspended in their game against UST, UE import Charles Mammie made double-double figures with 20 pts and 23 rebs. Roi Sumang added 14 pts for his team despite hurting his left arm at the fourth quarter of the game.
UE takes the 6th spot with Ateneo and UP at the bottom of the team rankings. UE will play against Ateneo archrival on Saturday, while UP Fighting Maroons will have a chance to gain a victory against Ateneo on Sunday.
